Who am I?
Hi, I’m Matt. Just your run of the mill overweight guy struggling to shift the pounds. I’m a husband to my beautiful wife, a father to three amazing boys, a little brother and a son.
Why I started this.
I have struggled with my weight all my life. I’m not the biggest person in the world by any stretch of the imagination, in fact some of you will probably read this and say “Dude! You’re 6ft and weigh 240lbs! That’s not fat!” And you’re right, but I’m unfit and not happy with the shape I’m in.
I decided to start blogging mostly just for fun and as a sort of journal, somewhere to just write my thoughts on my own fitness; what I think will work, whether or not it has… that sort of thing. If it takes off, awesome! If not, nevermind!
What’s my aim?
I want to get fit again. When I was 16 I weighed 188lbs (13.5st), fit as a flea, yet I still looked in the mirror and saw a disgusting fat mess staring back at me. Fast forward 12 years and I would kill to have that body back. So that’s the goal to lose 52lbs (3st10lb) and sort of document the journey. Once I’m there I will set another goal.
Content wise, my aim is to post a few times a week on different subjects. “Lean 2 Lard: The Journey” will be the main event; featuring a weigh in, my approach, my thoughts, improvements and anything else relevant. Other subjects at the moment include food (I love food!), mindful insights and the occasional product/app review.
